Extending a Fiancee to Spouse Visa

Post by disillusioned_brit » Sun Dec 29, 2019 11:03 am

Hi all,

Merry Christmas, hope you all had a joyful break.

We used this forum and gained a lot of helpful advise in the past, which enabled me and my wife to get the visa as we needed, so thank you again to all those who helped previously.

I am British and my now wife, has been on a fiancee visa entering the UK in July and we need to extend/apply for her next stage by January 2020. We got married a couple of months ago and have a baby who was born in the UK after my wife entered the UK on a fiancee visa, so he is British (I assume!). I'm sure we will have more questions, but for now my question is if we need to apply for a visa for him as a dependant in the application as well or just my wife?

Thanks in advance.

FLR M visa application for your spouse meeting all the requirements again. She must apply before her visa expires.

No need for child visa as child is British.

Presumably you have paid all the costs for the pre natal, birth and post natal care for your wife??

Hi CR001, and thank you for your reply.

I've been through the online form, FLR(M) and there's a couple of issues I'm coming up against.

1. Our son's details are coming under the section of 'non-applying children', is this correct?

2. I have children from a previous (unmarried) relationship whom I have parental responsibility over and have split care arrangements of (split equally during the week). I have entered their details on the form as 'non-applying children' and also their mom's as a partner who I had children with but was not married to. The options then given have really confused me, as it is asking for details of holidays they have been on, I have entered 9, having gone back to 2016 and can't find details for any of the others (they're have been more during their lives). Is this going to be an issue? The other issue is the system is asking for 'proof' as in a utility bill for my ex-partners address, which she is very unlikely to give for obvious reasons. I have to tick the box that this will be provided as otherwise the system won't let us go forward! Have I done something wrong here, and if not how do I resolve this issue.

Your continued help is much appreciated.

I should have added this is the question to which I answered yes to and then my children from the previous relationship's details were requested.

' Does Mr **** have any other children in the UK that are not applying on this application? '

You haven't replied about very important question.
The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.

Yes, absolutely that was dealt with separately, that’s why I didn’t mention it.

It is only important as visas can be refused when there is money owed to the NHS for services an applicant was not entitled to.
