Refusal of Entry Clearance

Post by pangwee » Fri Jan 10, 2020 8:28 am

I am Malaysian citizen and which is a 6 months Visa free country. I have a young child studying in UK and my wife has successfully applied for a Parent of a Tier 4 Child Visa. Unfortunately my wife's mother and sister both diagnosed with cancer. She wanted to return to Malaysia and I was hoping to assume the role as the sole carer of our son and applied for the Parent of a Child (while my wife's visa is still valid). My application has just been refused.

My question is - Does the Refusal of Entry Clearance as Parent of a Tier 4 child negates my 6 month visa free privilege? I plan to bring my son to UK as school has already commenced and I don't have time to apply for a Visitor Visa. I only plan to stay for a few weeks and my wife will take over after chinese new year.
