Adult Dependent Relative

Post by Decabrit » Wed Jan 15, 2020 9:05 pm

Hi there,

I’m seeking guidance. I’m a settled Nigerian in the U.K. my mother who resides in Nigeria has had multiple strokes which has left her unable to do a lot, physically and mentally.
We have a few challenges going down this route which I would appreciate advice/clarity

1. I’m currently unemployed due to my own health issues but I’m seeking a new job and wondered what the minimum amount per month would be advisable to aim for.

2. I have 5 siblings living in Nigeria, the challenge is not lack of funds but getting the right level of sustained care for her, how best can we prove this?

Many thanks!

Very difficult visa to get with a very high refusal rate, which will also shut the door to visitor visas. Even harder to get because she has 5 other children in Nigeria who can look after her.

Hello CR001

Thanks for the post, I read some of the guidance already but couldn’t find anything on financial requirements that applied.
Please can you direct me to something specific

Cheers

And yes there is family to care for her but what is lacking is medical care. We don’t have professional carers or even therapists that deal with Aphasia for example
