Tier 1 dependants (Mother)

Hi,

Curently i am in UK on WP. I am having my mother with me as a dependant to WP.

i am planning to apply for tier 1 application and will be submitting my mother's document as well.

Can some one point me to guidelines on dependant visa over 18(mother).

A dependant is a wife, husband, civil partner, same sex partner, unmarried partner and child under the age of 18 years old.

How dependants can come to the United Kingdom

If your application to the points-based system is successful, you are allowed to bring dependants (children under 18 years of age, or your husband, wife, civil partner, or unmarried or same-sex partner) with you to the United Kingdom, as long as we give them entry clearance or permission to stay (known as 'leave to remain').

Unfortunately, as you do not have ILR, your mother is not eligible to be your dependant.

So under ILR you can bring your mum as a dependent?

I guess when u get ILR, you lose WP status, and thereby any right to bring a dependant under the WP dependant rules.

I think then the correct route is the normal dependant rules, which mean over 65, wholly financially dependent, no other family etc, etc...
