Tier 2 general dependent extension

Post by Sureshkalane123 » Tue Jan 21, 2020 8:36 pm

Hi
I have to uk in sep 2013 as a pbs dependent (post study work visa). Then continue with tier 2 general dependent until now. There were gaps in my continuous residence 1) I was out of uk for nearly 8 months for maternity from October 2016 to April 2017. 2) there is a gap in between my tier 2 general visa to be specific my visa has expired on 06/03/17 and I got extension on 20/04/17, I did submit my application for extension on 04/04/17 as I was waiting for my husband visa to be approved in uk while I was in India (for maternity).
Now I need some guidance about extension of my stay. Should I apply for ILR, am I eligible for it. If not what is the other option to extend my visa.
Please guide me on it. Thanks

Your residence reset to zero when you applied for a visa from India in 2017 as you apply more than 28 days after your visa expired. You missed the deadline by one day and applied on the 29th day.

Note though that there is no absence limit for pbs dependents whose visa was issued before 11 January 2018 but you applied late for a visa so not relevant.

Apply to extend your tier 2 dependent visa. It will be a 3 year extension.

Hi
I need to know which date will be considered as a application date. As you mentioned I applied on 29th day for my extension in 2017.
I actually submit my application online and pay the health surcharge on 23/03/17 then submit all the supporting documents on 04/04/17 as there was no appointment available until then.
If you can please let me know as I am getting confused about it. Thanks
