Alhamdulilah the visa has been granted. My husband received a text but I didn’t receive an email.
Patience and perseverance.
Thank you so much for all your company and moral support guys. Especially the moderators.
We can finally start our life!
Wow, that's a long wait. The only thing I'd really suggest is the "case not straightforward" email seems to be a generic response when they can't complete the application on time (that's just going off what I've seen here. I believe earlier in this thread, somebody said they got that email, them or their employers weren't even contacted and shortly after they got their visa. That suggests it's a logistics issue as the case clearly wasn't too complicated). They seem to be aware of the deadline for your application too, they've sent the email one day before the deadline (probably as they know it's not getting done in time). To my untrained logic, it seems as though you're just a casualty of a slow response rate tbh. I wouldn't suggest anymore expenditure on escalating it, though maybe have your MP to see if they can do anything. Other than that, it just seems like a waiting game. Remember the decision is normally made a few days before you're notified, as the communication takes a while to come through to you.Batgirl4 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 28, 2020 10:38 amDecided to post my timeline also for a spouse visa.

60 working days deadline was 22/11/2019
We are now on 104 days and have not heard anything. I applied through a solicitor and he advised it’s just a waiting game and will let me know if there is any updates. We have had no calls for any interviews or for further information.
I called UKVI once prior to the 60 working days as my husband was made aware at the biometric centre a decision is made in 60 days but did not clarify this is working days.
A second call was made to UKVI once the 60WD’s deadline was reached and they advised they don’t have any updates.
Very frustrating as we have not heard anything and unsure whether I should call UKVI again or wait it out as suggested by the solicitor.
I can appreciate our situation is a little complex as my husband was previously married to a UK citizen, they applied for the visa and this was refused, they appealed the decision and this was also rejected. He got divorced in 2015 and we got married in 2019. When submitting papers we ensured all information was included, his previous divorce papers etc.
I meet all other requirements and my income is above the threshold – I don’t have much savings so not sure whether this will play a factor.
Anyone else in a similar situation?
Also I have read the forum religiously for the last few months and there was mention of receiving a VAF number as part of the case not straightforward email. Just wondering if there is any significance to this?
Batgirl4 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 28, 2020 5:55 pmThanks for the response.
One thing I've noticed is that there is no distinguishing pattern to the decision making process. Just seems so random how people applied after me and also got the not straightforward email but then now have had responses and our case seems to be left catching dust. The waiting doesn't help, life seems to be in limbo as you can't plan and do things in case they just randomly drop a message or give an update. I am contemplating calling them one more time but don't want to aggravate them especially when m solicitor has said to wait.

I completely agree with this and I can sympathise with you. It’s really hard coming onto the forum and seeing everyone receiving their visas but I guess it’s Allah’s will and his timing is always best.
Fingers crossed
For priority cases, is the maximum time frame 120 working days or 90?
I definitely agree with the VAF number not having any significance as surely they wouldn't keep people waiting for ages.Noshr67 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 28, 2020 10:33 pmI recieved my not straight fwd email day 29 of 30 of my priority application
Many got their not straight forward email day 58 of 60 of non priority applications so it is just generic when they cant complete the application on time
Reason as to why it hasnt been completed on time we cannot say
Vaf number I personally dont believe it has any significance
Even tho we recieved a vaf number on the not straight forward email on day 28 and day 47 the visa processed email came
But still if anyone suggests that getting a vaf means u have got the Visa doesn't make sense
Cz if they give u a vaf number and u believe the visa has been granted then there would be no reason for them to keep u waiting
Getting a vaf doesn't mean granted neither does it mean rejected
It purely is visa applied for number which every case gets assigned this number from the beginning when it's not even clear if visa should or should not be granted
Have faith and patience
Dont waste your money on ringing them but yeah do get MP involved and escalate that way
Solcitors deal with lots of cases and they do know best
Unfortunately if it is a waiting game then nothing u can do
Try the mp and see if that helps anyhow
Maybe it is a back log
Maybe mirpur cases have issues but of course they will never tell u the real reason

Could you please tell me the email address that you used to contact them?SNK wrote: ↑Thu Jan 30, 2020 1:14 ammy phone call from the HO was on the 18th December and nothing since. I’ve emailed and also escalated but no other news since.
I think they just sent a generic email unless a decision has been made and they can tell you that.
so not really sure if it’s worth it or not, I feel like spending nearly £6 every time I email is not worth it because they don’t give you a satisfying enough response (unless a decision has been made) dependant if your comfortable paying that again and again.. I’ve personally learnt to just leave them be and accepted that they will email 2/3 days after a decision has been made so might aswell just wait.
You might just have to ring them to confirm.Alinakhan wrote: ↑Thu Jan 30, 2020 11:49 amHello can I please ask my solicitor have received email from home office to say the passport is ready to collect, and she said she got the email but it doesn’t say name on and she said she have many clients so it could be anyone’s. She told me to tell my husband to go and check if it’s his passport or not. As my husband is in Afghanistan. He have to travel all the way to Islamabad to see if it his or not. Confusing.
I went onto the home office website and under the visas it says contact the home office, you then email from their website to ask them to escalateElizaK wrote: ↑Thu Jan 30, 2020 6:57 amCould you please tell me the email address that you used to contact them?SNK wrote: ↑Thu Jan 30, 2020 1:14 ammy phone call from the HO was on the 18th December and nothing since. Surely there will be a GWF number or application number in that email?Alinakhan wrote: ↑Thu Jan 30, 2020 11:49 amHello can I please ask my solicitor have received email from home office to say the passport is ready to collect, and she said she got the email but it doesn’t say name on and she said she have many clients so it could be anyone’s.
