Irrational questions from the ECO

Post by Zerubbabel » Fri Jan 31, 2020 10:15 am

Today, my wife was coming back to the UK after a week spent alone in France.

She told me that the ECO in the UK asked her strange questions considering her status:

- How did you get your EEA card?
- Do you still live with your EEA husband?
- Where does he work?
- At what address do you both live?

She responded patiently and they let her go. She has:

- EEA Permanent Residence card delivered by the Home Office
- "Settled" Status on the EU Settlement Scheme

Her status in the UK doesn't depend on her being married to an EEA national. That's why I find the questions from ECO a bit irrational.

Maybe just a bit of Brexit fever?

Most part of my long discussions were happening in small airports like Southampton, where there's normally just 1-2 non-EU passengers from the entire plane and IO do everything very thoroughly.
