I have what should be a fairly straightforward question:
Do I need to update my settled status passport details before I can apply for citizenship?

I have had settled status for almost a year and I will be able to apply for citizenship in a couple of weeks.
However, I have replaced my passport and my settled status is associated with the old one. To update it I need to send my actual physical passport through snail mail to Liverpool and wait weeks for it to come back.
No - you don't need to update passport details - as long as you have a valid passport you are ok to apply.
This is just my opinion as a member of this forum and does not constitute immigration advice.
Please do not send me private messages asking for advice.

Interestingly both emails ( the above and the Nationalityfrontendspecialist) emails stopped replying on my emails completely ..looks like I annoyed them .. I really feel.so upset of the contradiction and the confusion they put me in

Many congratulation again

Hello there

You do not need further English certificates as both UK degrees that you have are your proof of English knowledge .

Thanks

Thanks for your respond in advance.

Thanks

Thank you Sous49 , I am sure you will get some good news soon, just ask your cuncil is well every week if they got anything, example my cuncil they told me they receive certificates every Wednesday once a week. So it is worth it to ask your cuncil every week for your name , I think is the best way for update.
Soon after I got 21 day email on 23th january,I got another email from UKVI on 24th as I called them in the phone before and they sent it to me email
" it will take more than 6 month"
Some emails they just sent them generic as they are not bother to check. Example last 2 emails from FMT I received they was it will take you longer than 6 month, 10 days later I ask them for update they sent me "21 day email"
Dont worry you will get it soon

I applied on 18 July 2019, I sent an email to the ho and received this respond can someone else received this email Thank you for your correspondence dated 23 January requesting progress on your application for naturalisation as a British citizen.

I can confirm that your application is in the process and that decisions on applications are usually made within six months.

I am sorry if your application is taking longer than usual to be processed. As you may be aware, naturalisation is not an automatic process, and we have to make a number of enquiries to ensure that applicants can satisfy the statutory requirements. Some of these enquiries are carried out by external agencies on our behalf and can sometimes take longer than six months to complete.

We will endeavour to conclude your application at the earliest opportunity and we will write to you again as soon as the necessary checks are complete. Please be assured that as soon as we are in a position to reach a decision, you will be notified accordingly.

Yours sincerely

My friend got a similar reply and he got an approval letter four weeks after. This e-mail means that caseworker is assigned to your file and soon you will be given a green signal. Just wait few more weeks.

This exact e-mail has received to my friend who applied in June 2019 a few days after me. We both are waiting and both of us are on the refugee route. I don't know but somebody or any moderator of this forum has experienced better in this type of e-mail. Let's see who contributes to our steadfast patience.
