Visitor with 2 year Visa told to stay atleast 6 months before next UK visit

Post by haqhash » Wed Feb 05, 2020 10:38 pm

Hi All,
I am asking this question on behalf of a friend. His mother has 2 years uk visit visa. She has visited uk twice in the last 7 months. First visit was for 2 months and then second visit for 3 months. During her last entry , she was told that for her next uk visit she needs to stay in the home country for at least 6 months.

There was no written thing given

It does not make sense to us as the Uk visit visa is multiple for 2 years and there is no such condition mentioned on the visa sticker. Uk visit visa noramally means that a visitor can not stay in UK for more than 6 months. There is no other condition.

Do you think that office can verbly say like that?

The advice relates to the condition that a visitor shouldn't be spending more time in the UK than they are spending in their home country in a rolling 12 month period. Successive visits are generally considered to be an attempt to reside in the UK.
