Where is the cheapest place in UK?

Hi folks, I want to know where is the cheapest place to live in UK, without regard to salary? I know London and southeast is more expensive. North of England and Scotland is cheaper. But what is the detailed ranking of every area? Such as East Midlands,West Midlands ,North West,South East South West,North ,Central Scotland ,Lowlands, etc.

Interesting question. I don't know the answer but would love to hear about the thinking behind it, especially since it is aired on HSMP forum, where people are supposed to be highly skilled professionals who shouldn't have problems finding decent work anywhere?
