There will be no credit check. But you should preferably have some proof of addresses on that address. Also you will need your mother's noc letter and mortgage statement and/or title deeds to meet the accomodation requirement.hsadat wrote: ↑Tue Jan 14, 2020 11:46 pmDear all
I am a British Citizen and my wife from Canada is filling out the application form for a Spouse Visa on GOV.UK to live in the UK. Of course me being her husband will sponsor her and will also assist her in filling out the details related to me.
Long story short, I currently live at my mothers address BUT I am not registered at the house (i.e. not on the electoral register). On the application form form the "Sponsor details" section, my wife has put that I live at my mothers address and that she also intends to live there when she moves to the UK as I'm currently not registered her.
Now from everyone's experience here and despite the fact I'm not registered at my my mother's address, will this affect my spouse's ability to get her application approved? As in will the homeoffice contact the council to verify I live there or not?
Everything else meets the requirement sin terms my earnings as well as my credit report which shows as outstanding on multiple credit report websites.
Much thanks for your responses

Hi thanks for your response, I do have multiple proof of addresses that I live here. However my mum is currently renting privately, so will she need a document from our landlord to prove her tenancy ?
Stupid question, but the landlord doesn't need to inform the council that she approves of my fiance's stay at their home ? Unless they want to.seagul wrote: ↑Wed Jan 15, 2020 6:53 pmYes the tenancy agreement and also you will need the landlord's permission too.hsadat wrote: ↑Wed Jan 15, 2020 6:45 pmseagul wrote: ↑Wed Jan 15, 2020 12:16 amThere will be no credit check. No assuming the property is not given by council/housing association.hsadat wrote: ↑Wed Jan 15, 2020 8:48 pmStupid question, but the landlord doesn't need to inform the council that she approves of my fiance's stay at their home ? The council only found the house for her besides that no and introduced her to the landlord, besides that it has nothing to do with a council house/housing association.seagul wrote: ↑Wed Jan 15, 2020 9:10 pmNo assuming the property is not given by council/housing association.hsadat wrote: ↑Wed Jan 15, 2020 8:48 pmStupid question, but the landlord doesn't need to inform the council that she approves of my fiance's stay at their home ? Both won't be needed rather noc letter from landlord/estate agent will be needed.
Yes the noc letter must confirm that you and your wife (applicant) can stay and with this arrangement there won't be any overcrowding. Most noc letters do state the number of rooms & tenants. If you wish then may attach a letter from your mum but it won't carry any weight since she herself a tenant there.hsadat wrote: ↑Thu Feb 13, 2020 9:49 pm
Is that a letter from the landlord to give permission for my wife to stay at the property? as well stating the number of bedroom, who else lives there etc
Also the tenancy agreement is under my mothers name. Would it be a good idea to also get her to write a letter too ?
Thanks again
Thanks for you help mate glad to know its not so complicated.seagul wrote: ↑Thu Feb 13, 2020 9:56 pmYes the noc letter must confirm that you and your wife (applicant) can stay and with this arrangement there won't be any overcrowding. I'm sorry to bother you again mate, but I keep reading things online and have one final question.seagul wrote: ↑Thu Feb 13, 2020 9:56 pmYes the noc letter must confirm that you and your wife (applicant) can stay and with this arrangement there won't be any overcrowding. If no none-related adult living there then property inspection report won't be needed.hsadat wrote: ↑Fri Feb 14, 2020 12:07 amI'm sorry to bother you again mate, but I keep reading things online and have one final question.seagul wrote: ↑Thu Feb 13, 2020 9:56 pmYes the noc letter must confirm that you and your wife (applicant) can stay and with this arrangement there won't be any overcrowding. I forgot to mention that I live in a rented 3 bedroom house with my mother and sister who have their own rooms of course. I read somewhere that I would need a property inspection report since I don't exclusively rent the property myself. Can you verify whether this is true ?
Thanks again.
