Applying for EC: Arranged Accomodation

Hi,
I got HSMP approval sometime ago as mentioned on this board. Now, I am planning to apply for EC but I found it difficult to arrange for accomodation. I do not have any friend in UK and all the hotels I want to book are requesting for credit card details and there is no credit card facility in my country on residence.

How I can arrange for accomodation in London? I have talked to EC officer in my country and she said arranged accomodation is required when applying for EC under HSMP

I had a 10 day hotel reservation in London for my initial accommodation and this was fine by the EC officer as I explained it was just while I had time to look for something more permanent.

However, I did book it with a credit card. I suggest you call the hotel and ask them if there is some way you could book an initial stay with them without a credit card and explain the situation. They may be happy to send you a confirmation email outlining the details which you could show for EC. Alternatively, they may be willing to accept payment via some other means - bank transfer or the like.

If you really don't know anyone in London, you'll have to contact a hotel directly.

Hello Larry,

There are several types of accommodation in London. Hotel, Lodge YMCA etc. Visit the site and drop an email asking for details. Choose the best fit and get an email communication in this regard. Also get a print out of this email and show it to the ECO at the BHC and this would suffice.
