Visitor Visa for niece - Help please

Post by mollybird » Tue Feb 18, 2020 6:27 pm

Hi
My niece turned 15 last week. She is my brother’s daughter who passed away almost 15 years ago when she was 2 months old. It will also be 15 years that I’ve been in the U.K. as he died the week after I landed. Her mum has agreed she could travel alone and we are using the unaccompanied minors service from Qatar. We are busy with her visa and I have a few questions please.

1. On the application it asks for our relation and I put aunt. Was I supposed to put Father’s Sister and do I even fall under their definition of a family member as per Image

2. Also it only asks for a letter from her mum confirming her travel arrangements for the visa (I’m aware of all the docs needed as a South African to pass customs) I’m asking for visa only. Does someone have a sample letter I can use please?

3. Wouldn’t I need to provide proof of my money, house etc. I have 2 daughters her cousins who is 12 and 9.

Please any help we need to submit tomorrow.
Thanks

I already invited teenagers from my family. All the same profile.

2 accepted now issues
1 refused with no need to apply unless circumstances change
3. Wouldn’t I need to provide proof of my money, house etc. I have 2 daughters her cousins who is 12 and 9.
Yes, you need to provide:

- 3 months payslips
- 3 months bank account only the pages showing the money coming in (must match payslip)
- A couple of recent utility bills or a bill and council tax
- A letter explaining that you are inviting her
- Proof of ID or her parents and explain they are not travelling to the UK

As she is a teenager, a letter ideally signed by the police/court, showing they are ok for her to travel.

A document from her school showing she is going to school

A letter from school showing she has holidays during her trip.

All the best

Thanks for your reply.

May I ask why one was refused please and what do you mean now issues?

Why is that not mentioned on the online application all details on there. I was a student or in between my 2nd and 3rd year but not currently working. I did a 2 month contract until 2 weeks ago when I was about to start my own cleaning business but fell and broke my wrist so had to delay my start date.
I live with my partner and get some universal credit and also maintenance for my daughters which shows on my statements. Is that enough.

The visa office never said she needed a letter from police to show she can travel. That a letter from her mum and death certificate of my brother and the normal customs info that South Africa required is enough but not needed for Visa.

What kind of letters from school? Her term holiday is from 20th March until 31st March. She flies 20th but will have 10 school days off as our holidays are only in April so she returns the 18th April.
Thanks

Can some please urgently clarify the family part. Someone just said that she doesn’t fall under family member so I can’t do a family tourist visa.
