are caseworkers allowed to tell the decision?

Post by darksun » Sat Aug 09, 2008 3:08 am

Hey guys,

Are CWs allowed to tell you the decision on email? My CW said on mail he made a decision and sent my documents to relevant team to return them to me. ALso he said it usually takes 2-3 weeks. When I asked the decision he said he's unable to confirm the outcome of my application. I will be informed when I receive the documents...

Does it mean it's not approved? Anyone had a similiar experience?

Thanks in advance,

darksun

I cant promise anything but I have heard other people report the same thing so dont panic, it seems to be standard practise not to notify outcomes via email. I know that some other applicants were invited by their caseworker to telephone to hear the outcome but not all caseworkers might follow that practise so you might just have to wait.

Also, were you told it would take 2-3 weeks for your documents to be returned to you? What kind of application was this and where was it being sent to?

Thank you very much for the reply niw2.

It's from WP to Tier 1. I was confused as well. Maybe CW's manager is looking to it and then approve it? I applied on 20th of June. I've been told that I forgot my police certificate. I sent it on tuesday and I've been told on the mail 'your documents have been sent to the relevant team to return them to you. This could take between 2 and 3 weeks'.

any idea?

Thanks,

darksun

CWs cant tell you decisions either by mail or on the phone, but they can only tell you that decisions have been made but not the contents of the decision. You have too keep holding on, until you get the decision by psot.

Cheers

Man, I hope they dont take three weeks to send my HSMP documents back to me (from the UK to New Zealand) after they make a decision on my application.

Thanks 1971 :)

I think as people were mentinoning in another post, it might highly be that after cw make a decision their manager is checking again, and then goes to stamping or something. Also when you consider the very high volumes of applications it can't happen in a few days. I applied on 20th of June and everything started to roll just now...
