@sushdmehta
Lets advice these guys even if its a duplicate post. I believe we can correct them slightly and not outright condemnation. Some need us to cool down the pressures.

@HSMP GURU,

Thats not a problem. The new JR rule still in your favour.

Include all evidences that you've been and registered with HMRC as self employed. If you have a Business Bank Account, please include same with all invoices of jobs done. Write a cover letter stating your experiences, inability to provide a year Bank Statement bcos you couldnt find a job but if you have been applying for jobs since you came into Uk and havent found one, please, include all the apllications and responses from agencies in your application and state in your cover letter.Have you filed any tax returns? If not, state it in the cover letter that your business has to operate for 1 year before you can file your business tax returns.Show all the evidences that you are paying the Self employed NI class 1 or 2 contributions(very important.) With that I know you will have a case.Make sure that you have good balances in your account 3 months prior to your application and that you can sustain yourself in the Uk if further extensions is given.

I wish you well

:shock:
Am surpised (to say the least) to note that you view a post being marked duplicate as a condemnation! Well, this clearly indicates that you haven't understood the idea behind marking a post as "duplicate".

Marking a post "duplicate" doesn't (in any way) signify that people should not respond to the queries or advise / help the OP. It just informs the public at large that the same query (by the same user) has been posted at another place, that there might be a discussion already going on in that thread and that people should post their responses at the other location - rather than posting them here (under the post marked "duplicate"). Anyone who marks a post "duplicate" provides a (hyper)link to the original post for a reason!

Hope this brings clarity to any misconceptions that you have on the matter.

@Sush,

I know. But simplicity is what makes life very meaningful and interesting.

No man is an "ISLAND."

Thanks.

Appreciate your interest in philosophy. But isn't *not duplicating* also simplicity (or a sign of)?

Dear sushdmehta

You are a very senior member. people expect from you compassion innformation help. Unfortunately in general your replies are rebuking the individuals, at times sarcastic, and discouraging. please instead writing duplicate a nice manner would have been to redirect him to the right thread. I also posted you question regarding special children above 18 years to get EC if hsmp approved. Your reply was much the same as was discussed thousand times on many forums. Let us make efforts to resolve people issues collectively

People do tend to get that feeling if someone corrects them or takes the liberty to point out mistake(s). People would not be offended if they see it from a positive frame of mind and with an intellect of a highly skilled individial - but emotions prevail!

You might not be aware but I'm just following the standard practice of the forum (e.g. see this) .. and the text is always linked to the right (original) thread, as you have suggested. The frequency of duplicate posts in this forum has increased so much that moderators have stopped locking duplicate posts here, unlike how it is done in other discussion forums on this website - where duplicate posts are infrequent or rare. If you haven't noticed, this is one discussion forum where the contribution from moderators is minimal and it is easy to guess why!

While I could understand your predicament, I couldn't have advised you against the law(s), unlike someone else who might offer a false hope. My answers, though perceived by you as discouraging, were nothing more than what the laws seem to state on the issue. Same answers on other forums point to the same fact - that it might not (legally) possible to do what you wish. As I am no legal expert and do realize that there might (still) be some provision in law (that may help you) which only a legal professional would know, I had suggested to you that you should seek legal advice to figure out any options available to you. Please do not misconstrue my response to be discouraging just becuase it doesn't offer false hopes.

Anyway, since I do not believe that a public forum is an appropriate forum for arguments on personal perceptions or opinions, I withdraw from any further discussion on the matter. Please feel free to PM me if you wish.
