I am new to the forum but I have found the posts extremely helpful so far, so thank you!
I am in a tricky situation and I’d like to ask for some advice. I appreciate all the help I can get
My partner (British citizen) and I (non EEA citizen) are getting married in May (small civil ceremony as we are holding a bigger religious ceremony later on) in London and I have been on a tier 2 working visa valid until 2022 (I have held various tier 4 visas prior).
The problem now is that I have recently lost my job (I.e my tier 2 sponsor) but I haven’t received my curtailment letter yet. We are still going to get married of course but now I plan to switch to a spouse visa straight after the wedding (I was initially going to wait until after the church wedding but we have decided to do it now as we don't want to be separated).
Do I need to explain my situation on my cover letter (we were planning to write a joint one)? I am really scared the home office will think this is a sham marriage (which it definitely isn’t)!
If so, how do I explain this?
Thank you very much guys! We are both very worried about this situation and as I said, we really do appreciate any advice or thoughts you may have to guide/help us.
