IHS Refunds??

Post by Moojs » Mon Mar 16, 2020 5:12 am

Good morning all :)

Hopefully someone can advise me on who to talk to about IHS refunds, My wife finally got her visa whoop whoop but we did have two failed applications prior to this and we've yet to receive any refunds for these.

Quick back story we employed the services of solicitors to sort our applications so we paid lump sums to them and then they sorted all the applications, IHS, etc so from what i understand any refunds will go to their bank as they paid for them? ..

the most recent one which we applied 10/09/2019 and declined November we have defiantly not received as were still in contact with the solicitor and he said he'll tell us when the refund comes / he will chase but i also want to chase for both just to make sure.

I've pretty much given up on the first one as it was so long ago and we had other things on our minds to chase at the time and we changed solicitor firms after the refusal and he then closed his firm and stopped answering phone, emails, etc so he could have just kept that refund without me knowing. we applied 05/01/2018 for that one

I did send a letter to the only address i could find on the forms a few weeks ago but not heard anything yet so just wondered how people have chased there IHS refunds if they have needed to ?

My letter was to ...

IHS is usually refunded automatically within 6 weeks. I hope your 2nd solicitor is honest than 1st one.
The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.

Did you get the first guy from the OISC registered lawyers? Have you tried talking to them about him and seeing if they can apply pressure or do anything for you? Sounds like, you should report him.
