Self employed/contractor previous earning proof help

Post by papij » Mon Aug 11, 2008 11:13 pm

Hi,

I'm about to apply for Tier 1 (General) visa extension.
I work as a freelance, with various clients.

I'm about to apply using bank statements (12 months) and accountant letter as proofs for previous earnings.

My questions are:

1. What should the accountant letter include? Does it have to detail every individual contract I had during the 12 months period, or is the total sufficient?

2. The bank statements are my personal account (and my only bank account) which is a joint account with my wife. It shows her income as well, but of course I'm not going to claim it as previous earnings. Would I face any problem because of this? is there anything I should do in order to prove my part in these statements? would the accountant's letter be sufficient?

3. Do I need to show maintenance (£800) and pay application fees for my dependent (wife) as well?

any info would help,

Thanks,

papij

If your HSMP approval was granted as per rules in place before Dec '06, please see HSMP Forum Judicial Review, HSMP JR - policy document and FLR Tier 1 (HSMP) guidance. In this case, you do not need to provide evidence of maintenance funds as prescribed under Tier 1 policy.

If your HSMP approval was granted as per rules in place from Dec '06 onwards, then please read para 123(6)-126 of the Tier 1 policy guidance. In this case, you will need to show evidence of maintenance funds for self (800) and also for any dependent (either 533 or 1600).
Initial applications wrote:If you are sending any dependant applications at the same time as your own application, we encourage you to send your application and dependant applications in the same envelope or you must pay a seperate dependant fee. See the section on cost.
Note: Even if you are applying under the HSMP JR category, you could still get your accountant letters done in the format explained in Tier 1 guidance.
