Job Offer Rescinded

Post by nicknickmm » Mon Mar 23, 2020 9:23 pm

Hi all,

My Canadian fiance was due to start a new job in 2 weeks but today they have rescinded the offer. She is currently on a Tier 2 visa in the UK, got the new job (which took 17 months to materialised due to the visa) and once her new visa came through it automatically cancelled the one with her present employer. She is currently serving her last week of notice with her employer but now appears that she's been left with no job as can't go back to the old job as the visa was cancelled and the employer would have to re-apply.

We are shocked and don't know what our options are, or if there are any.

Any help appreciated!

Thanks

Reapply for the current employer if they wish to retain her.

If you are British and have lived with her for 2 years, you could apply for an unmarried partner visa.

Thanks for your reply.

Would that require a full new visa? They have cancelled her COS as she's finishing working there tomorrow.

Thanks, we can apply for that but seems a shame that it will cost us time and money before she can apply for another job. Especially as she was due to start next week.

This couldn't have come at a worse time.

In case you have not noticed the entire system is designed to rip off and torture non-EU tier 2 workers
