@Yahas

Section 98 rooms are usually shared, it is usually 2 in a room, some times it could be a hostel of 3 -10 people. What is most important is that you have a bed space. It is only in extremely rare cases you can get a room.

What @Stillwaiting was referring was Section 95 or Section 4

Good luck.

Dear Chidiebube,

Hope u r fine and doing well, finally HO approved my Section 98 support and moved me to Birmingham in a Hostel, its a shared room with 3 peoples, i really don't want to live here but don't know what to do, should i go back to Aunt house and wait for the decision of my appeal ???

To be honest i cannot stay here for long ....

Whats your advice for me ??? To stay or go
Back to Aunt house and wait for the decision of the appeal and get Section 95 directly ???

Thank you for your help and advice ...

Take care ...

I personally do not think its an unreasonable idea for the Home office to consider granting an amnesty to immigrants.Given the current situation with the coronavirus, delays to applications are inevitable, the Home office is not immune to the effects the virus is having on the staff, like what is happening everywhere. I am not sure if case workers can work from home due to security issues. The asylum system is already stretched at the moment as there is currently a backlog of cases and it is only going to get worse due to the disruptions currently happening.I dont think it is a big ask for the government to consider a silent amnesty to all those already in the system, but with the current government , it Will be a miracle, but hey miracles do happen :) . They have already shown that they are brave enough to take Key decisions and this is a very small matter compared to the key decisions that they are making regarding the coronavirus. There is also a small matter of a new immigration system that was supposed to come into effect Jan 2021 to deal with Brexit but I guess that has now been set aside due to all hands on deck to focus on what is happening right now. Given that the current situation might be expected to last up to 12 months with further disruptions along the way inevitable, it is only a guess that backlogs will continue to build at home office. The home office is not known for being efficient but who knows? maybe they will surprise

That is exactly my thoughts on the matter. If only they come through for us. I guess one can dream. Nothing wrong with dreaming 😂

One would have to start a petition and create awareness to the government on that issue but that’s well after the pandemic is subsided and the country is regaining stability. It’s not going to happen as of now I guess...

Hi everyone,

Can anyone with experience advice me on this please..
I did my further submission based on human rights in December 2017 then did my biometrics 15th of October 2019 then everything went silent since and every time I contact the home office via the MP they say the case is no further forward and still waiting on a decision to be made.
I’ve been seeing many cases get granted a lot quicker than that and I’m in confusion atm as I don’t know what to expect?

Hi,
I have same feeling like you I did mine October 2018 and been updated October 2019 with new evidence of 7 years child route and been updated again with new evidence as child became British citizen but still didn't even get biometric letters. tried check with MP but HO didn't send much information to MP. just mentioned case being working. tried complaining myself and then received response March 2020 from HO that said they are aiming to make decision within six month. unfortunately covid 19 hits everywhere now cant expect HO will be able to make it as they said. most of people I know personally been applied FSU after me ,got their visa granted within 8 to 10 weeks totally with very similar case like mine. don't know why it keeps us this long

Hello there, seeing this stories really makes me worried how long I’ll be waiting and also with the virus out there, it’ll definitely be longer. I claimed asylum in January 2019, had interview and now waiting for decision. I also update and send new evidence in January 2020 of my new born child British passport and some medical evidence to support my claim and I haven’t received anything from the Home office too. I told my legal aid lawyer to ask for update but they have to reply. Please how do you email the home office for update? and do you think it’s a good idea? because I’m worried.

Hi violet,
Don’t worry too much. I am still waiting for my decision as well god knows what it will be.i claimed asylum December 2018, I had my main interview August 2019 did biometric the same day. Never heard anything from HO. I believe you will receive positive decision soon as I know a lot of people who got their visa especially you submitted new evidence.
