Immediate naturalization after ILR(Long residence)

Post by sanwar » Sat Apr 11, 2020 12:37 am

Hi everyone,
I am so confused.
I hv been in UK nearly 11 years (july 2009).
Came as a student.
I got married to EU citizen 2013.
Got my EU family member visa for 5 years July 2014.
Got divorced April 2019.
Applied for ILR (LR) July 2019.
Got my ILR (LR) Feb 2020.
Do I have to wait for 12 months before i can apply for naturalization ?
Letter comes with ILR card doesn't mention any date to apply for naturalization.
Spoke to 2 solicitors they have said you can apply straight away.
Not find any authentic advice yet and don't want to spend £1330.
Any help will be appreciated 🙏
Thanks
Be safe

The entitlement to apply for BC immediately after being granted ILR is only for those who are married (at the time of application) to a British citizen. You need to wait the statuary 12 months.

Please don't send me PMs asking for immigration advice on posts that are on the open forum. If I haven't responded there, it's because I don't have the answer. I'm a moderator, not a legal professional.
