Covid-19 notification requirement for FLR and employment

Post by Abhishek_P » Sun Apr 19, 2020 1:31 am

Hi,

My wife has completed online application for FLR (wife of british citizen visa) from within UK and paid application fees and IHS. She has also uploaded all the documents on partner website. However no appointments are currently available. Her current visa is valid for less than 1 month now. I believe that as per UKVI guidelines it seems all the visa are automatically extended until 31-May-2020. My questions:

1) Do we need to notify Covid immigration team email id with application number, etc. so that we are not in breach of immigration law as the application won't be complete without appointment booking and it seems unlikely to do so before 31-May-2020

2) Her employer is not fully convinced that they can keep her on roll after visa expiry. Is there a way to get them assurance from home office?

Thanks,
Abhi.

1. No need to email anyone as the auto renewal is intended for those who can't return back home to renew/reapply their visas. Since you have applied in timely so will be protected by virtue of section 3C which prevent you from becoming an overstayer and keep intact your previous working rights (if any).

2. They can call to UKVI employer helpline
