I'm Syrian living in the UK as a Refugee and my Refugee leave expires in June 2020.
I have a question about completing the online application for Refugee Settlement.
Under the section "Nationality details"of the online application, if I put my nationality (Syria), it starts asking for my Syrian passport which is expired and is with the Home Office when I applied for the UK Travel Doc. If I say I don't have the passport it will ask for its details and mandates the passport is current (not expired).
Should I put my nationality as "Refugee" instead? If I choose this it will ask for my Refugee passport which makes sense, but the "Refugee" Nationality doesn't sound right to me.
Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

Being a refugee doesnt mean that you have no nationality. A refugee itself isnt a nationality. You must enter your nationality as syrian. If you have details of the passport home office keeping you should put those details, like you should have a copy of syrian passport.Refugee is a simple &straightforward application where in a small letter you just have to ask home office that you still need protection as the circumstances of your country have not changed or improved. There is no need to repeat same things told already at the time of seeking asylum nor need to send them payslips, contracts&employers letter as all this is irrelevant.Stay cool ,its not gonna be a battle as you are highly likely will get ILR.

Hi, I have a question please. I’ve submitted my online application and I realised I have my passport issue date is wrong. Since it’s mentioned in their confirmation email that if I need to change anything I need to apply again. Do you think it’s better to submit another application and put the previous application reference number ( as it’s an option at the beginning to mention other applications)

This application is simple. If they ask you about your travel documents &if you have then put UK travel documents. If they ask you your current passport then you should put details of passport held at home office.Uk travel document is not your current passport.Your nationality &Passport will always be Syrian .

Hello, everyone.
My Timeline,
Refugee expired on 23/03/2020,
Applied on 24/02/2020,
Biometrics done on the 27/02/2020,
No Knowledge letters yet.
My question is, has anyone applied after me who got the decision yet or does anyone know if the Home Office still working on the cases which are already been submitted?
I am just concerned about the delay due to COVID19. I have applied through a solicitor.
Please Help
Would appreciate your advice.
Thanks

My timeline
Expired 10.03.2020
Applied 16.02.2020
Biometrics: 19.02.2020
Approval and biometric still waiting;(
I am worried that someone received their ILR only after 23 days and this person applied after me.
Hello mate,
I have applied about a week after you, so in the same boat as yours. I hope, we both get a good news soon. I’ll be keep updating you, please update me back too. My solicitor said last week, give about another two week, so yeah man.
Good luck, stay strong.

That's sounds good. I had one session with solicitor but she told me that i dont need her help as she can see i know what i am doing and just helped with some advice and how to organize my documents. She also said that percentage of refusal is very low and i spoke with one lady who work for home office and she told she have not noticed any delays so far and case workers works as normal but from their homes.

I have a question please. Regarding uploading documents do I need to scan all the pages of the travel documents and upload them in one file on the UKVAS page, or only the front page of document ?
Thank you

Hi, I made a set P application on 15th April 2020. I uploaded all my documents including my travel document online. However I only uploaded the front page of Travel Document. My question is do I have to scan all the pages and upload or just the front page is ok.
Thanks
Regards

Sorry for the late reply. I have submitted my application through solicitor and I am not too sure about uploading documents. It’s better, you are completely following the right process that’s what people causing delays in their application. I still haven’t heard anything about my application yet, it’s about ten long weeks. Good luck with your application. Good to come, the sun will shine x

Question about dependants.
I have a wife and a daughter (under 18) who are dependants on my Refugee Leave.
Do I simply include them in my online application?
Or do they need to apply separately, where each one of us will have a separate online application?
I'm only asking because a friend of mine had his application turned back during the biometrics appointment and was asked to make separate applications for each family member. Sounds weird.

Would appreciate a response to this as I'll be applying online this Saturday 16/5/2020. Many thanks.

There gonna be a question about your dependants. If they are part of your application or not and you will have to provide more information about them, the same as if they are not part of your application, you will still have to provide information about them.

All the appellants who’s submitted their biometrics before lockdown their cases are still under consideration but I think, you have to submit your biometrics before your case goes to a caseworker. Wish you the best mate x
