Covid19 - stranded in India

Hello all,

I’m currently on Tier 2 dependant visa that’s expiring on 16 June 2020. I came to India in March and am stranded here with my family due to flight being cancelled given the Covid 19 situation.
I feel worried that I may not be able to go back to UK in time to renew my visa.
Please help me if I can renew my visa from India ?
If not, what will be my options if India extends the lockdown and my current visa expires.
P.S : my husband got his ILR in June 2019

Hello

UK is not closing borders. So if you come to a port of entry in the UK, they will let you in with your visa.

What's the situation in India? Do you have the right to leave India? If you want to avoid expiration then being stuck in India for months, you probably need to find a way to come to the UK. I know people who travelled through 3 or 4 countries to come back home.

British government has executed multiple rounds of chartered flights to get the people back to the UK in most countries including India. I can understand the number of people would have been higher than available flight capacity but you should still try and get yourself registered with the British embassy in India and explain your situation to them. My cousin was struck in Pakistan since the end of March and he only got on a flight last week but Pakistan has had more available flights due to a commercial airline still flying a couple of times per week but it still took more than a month for him to get here.
