Spouse Visa from Pakistan

Post by ilruk84 » Wed May 13, 2020 11:25 am

Dear All,

Hope everyone is safe and doing well. I am currently in Pakistan and inshaAllah will be getting my nikah done soon after eid once thats done I would like to apply for her spouse visa. Does anyone if Home office is still processing visas and whats the current time scale if anyone knows?

Also she is doctor and already has couple of offers from different hospitals in london do you think it will be faster to get visa if she apply for Tier2 and once she is in UK i can then change it to spouse visa?

Lastly she currently has standard visit visa expiring mid July 2020 can she travel with me on that visa ?

Thanks

Regardless of what visa she applies for, the biometric centres are likely closed in Pakistan as they are everywhere else and a visa won't be progressed. HO is also prioritising those within the UK who are unable to leave etc.

There are delays for applicants from abroad and within the UK for visas.

If she is able to come on a tourist visa, she will not be permitted to change to any other visa category while in the UK and must leave the UK before the visit visa expires. HO also introducing 14 days quarantine for travelers from abroad as far as I am aware.

Hi,

What if she comes with me on her tourist visa will she be allowed entry to UK knowing there are currently no commercial flights to Pakistan only rescue flights are in operations? Will HO not allow to her switch visa category during this global pandemic ?

Why would you want to take the risk and create a significant blemish on her immigration history, that will effect her for many years. You would be deliberately make this choice, why should she be get special treatment when everyone else is simply following the rules and applying and waiting as normal?
Will HO not allow to her switch visa category during this global pandemic ?
No. Only those who are CURRENTLY in the UK (and have been since the start of the pandemic) and those only on specific visas can switch where they would usually need to apply from abroad. This also does NOT apply to visitor visas switching to limited leave to remain visas. You would be consciously and deliberately bringing her, if possible, to the UK and then try to circumvent the immigration rules.

Also the auto renewal/visa switching for those already stuck here is only until 31st May which isn't too far and more likely won't be extended as a lot of activities/operations have already been reinstated. Also now anytime the new legislation gets enacted where everyone have to self quarantine for at least 14 days which also dissuading a lot travellers to travel to UK unnecessarily.
The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.
