Right to Work Checks

Post by t2momodu » Thu May 14, 2020 1:27 pm

Hi All,

For those of us who have applied for a new visa with biometrics still pending and still in UK employment, it might be useful to give consent to your HR admin to carry our right to work checks.

I recently applied for a settlement application (Set M) on 23.03.2020 with biometrics with UKVCAS still pending; as I work in the NHS (very senior manager admin &clerical capacity) not frontline, I asked my HR to carry out their employer checks as my current spouse visa would be running out on 15.05.2020 (tomorrow).

I just received an email from the HR admin team with a positive verification notice in it it says this check expires on 12 November 2020 - 6months - this infact confirms I can continue working until UKVI sort out any pending application.

This for me is a bit of relief knowing I dont really have much to worry about with regards to my employment and finances for the next couple of months until such a time HO concludes my application.

Thanks Zimba, I didn't even know that, if I knew I wouldn't have been so worried, but as usual thanks for always helping people like us to calm our anxious nerves!!

During this pandemic there has been abundance of exemptions & commendations for nhs staff ranging from nationwide applause to free one year of visa probably due to their heroic efforts.
