Work permit validity after Tier 1 (HSMP) stamping

Post by chandnip » Sat Aug 16, 2008 11:18 am

Hi All,
I am an Indian national working in UK for last 2 years on work permit sponsored by my Indian based company. I am currently planning to apply for Tier 1 (HSMP). But my doubts are as follows:
1) After getting my Tier 1 visa stamped on my passport, will the Home Office cancel my current work permit and notify my employer?
Or can both the work permit and Tier1 visa remain valid on the same passport without any problem.
Please note that I am not planning to leave my current company but I may switch jobs here if I am deputed back to my home country(and for that I need Tier 1 visa).
regards
LG
