Applying for spouse visa with a job loss

Post by simonsamuel » Mon May 18, 2020 9:47 pm

Hi all,

I( British citizen) was meant to be applying for a spouse visa for my wife( Indian) this month after I received my 6 month payslip from my job which meets the minimum requirement of £18,600. But due to COVID-19 we are unable to do so and to make matters worse I have been let go of my job :( My the last working day will be on the 31st of July.

So my question is if we apply for a spouse visa when the visa office eventually opens, which I'm hoping is in June will the fact that my last month in this job is in July affect our visa badly? I am already in the process of looking for a new job too. If I am successful can I combine my old payslips from my previous job which I have been employed for 7 months now but will be 9 months in july and my new job to apply for the visa? or do I need to further work another 6 months before applying?

No because your income must be sufficient until the date of application. However, yes too in case if you won't be found with that employer on UKVI caseworker's enquiry.

Yes you can even can attach the payslips from all jobs held During the last 12 months.

**If your partner is working then you can combine her income too.
