Traveling after ILR confirmation but before receiving BRP?

Post by kaisrmaulo5 » Wed May 27, 2020 8:30 pm

Hi all,

My friend was on a Tier 2 visa (valid for another month on face value) and applied for indefinite leave to remain. He had the appointment this morning, and juts received the email confirming success of the application. Now there is a medical emergency back home and he'd really like to travel overseas to attend to it, but the BRP is to come "within a week". Is he at risk of being denied entry if he comes back in ten days and doesn't have the BRP on his person? Does the visa "still count" until its expiry date? Is there another way to just hop on the next plane without having to worry about reentry?

Looked as much as I could but could not find this info online from the official sources

BRP card doesn't necessarily arrive within 7 days. For returning back to UK he would need a valid visa/ILR otherwise won't be allowed to board the flight.
