Tier 2 Dependent Visa renewal

Post by justaquery » Thu Apr 02, 2020 12:53 pm

Hi All

How early can you apply for Tier 2 Dependent Visa renewal? I’ve checked online, most websites state that a Tier 2 General Visa can be applied for 60 days before expiry date, however I can’t seem to find the same information for the dependent visa. Presumably, the dependent visa can also be renewed 60 days in advance? My wife’s renewal is coming up soon and I wanted to plan her extension. However, I shifted to an ILR 7 months ago so only she will need to make the application as she hasn’t been in the U.K. for 5 years yet.

Thanks a lot.

She can apply at any time.

Note however that the ukcvas centres are currently closed so even if you apply, she won't be able to enrol biometrics and her application will just be pending with nothing further happening.

Recently I have flown to Dubai for work. I have been working as a programmer there in one big IT company. And it was time to update my visa. I had huge problems because I could not find a good visa center. But then I came across one good vise-service that helped me with my problem :)

Tier 2 Dependent Visa application

Post by justaquery » Fri May 29, 2020 1:40 pm

Hi everyone

My wife’s tier 2 dependent visa Is expiring on 8 August this year so we were planning on applying for an extension in the next few weeks.

However, it is my understanding that all biometric enrolment centres were closed until very recently and a limited number are opening next week to only those people whose appointment was cancelled during the lockdown.

What does this mean for new applications? Is there any point for us to submit the application when the biometric collection points are not open yet? How much time do you have to submit biometrics once application has been submitted online?

Also, does anyone know when the premium appointment option will be restarted by the home office?

Thanks a lot

They are reopening on 1st June and yes, priority will be given first to those who had appointments cancelled.
What does this mean for new applications? Is there any point for us to submit the application when the biometric collection points are not open yet? How much time do you have to submit biometrics once application has been submitted online?
She MUST apply online BEFORE her visa expires. When you then can book an appointment, you book one. NO ONE will be penalised for delays in enrolling biometrics, this is clearly stated on the UKVI website.
Also, does anyone know when the premium appointment option will be restarted by the home office?
Super priority or priority (not 'premium') is unlikely to be a available until HO has reduced the enormous backlog across every single immigration route that have applied since March.

Hi, just a few follow up questions. We are currently filling in the online application form for my wife’s PBS extension. Could you please help with the below:

1- Do you have one of these home office reference numbers for Mr XYZ?

We have chosen the option “yes I have their biometric residence permit (BRP) number”. However, I have shifted onto an ILR since my wife’s initial PBS dependent visa application. Do I give the BRP no for my ILR or should I give the BRP no for my last tier 2 BRP before I shifted onto ILR (this was the one used in my wife’s original application)?

2- what is the start date of your current visa or leave to remain?

My wife’s BRP states that the date of issue is 25 Jan 2019, however, she landed in the UK on 17 Feb 2019 which is when we collected her BRP. We have used the 25 Jan date in her answer. Is that correct?

3- Document showing you and your partner are living together?

I have a joint bank account with my wife and she also has a personal bank account. Both are registered to the same address where we live together. Will that be sufficient proof for the home office that we are living together?

Thanks so much for your help.

1. ILR BRP

2. It does ask start date if visa and not date of entry to the UK.

3. You need more than that. You need 3 to 6 different sources in joint names or addressed individually at the same address, spread evenly for every 3 months since she arrived in the UK

Hi. Thank you for your prompt response. A follow up query on point 3, will the below evidence be enough for proving we are living together:

1- Bank statements of Personal bank account in my wife’s name
2- Bank statements of Personal bank account in my own name
3- Bank statements for joint bank account in our name
4- scan of both mine and my wife’s UK driving license
5- Bank statements of my wife’s credit card
6- My wife’s payslips from her employer

All of the above are registered at the same address where we live. Will that be enough? They were all opened at different times, for example her personal bank account was opened in April 2019, joint bank account in Aug 2019, driving license issued July 2019, credit card in Feb 2019 and payslips from Feb 2019. We also have our marriage certificate which was submitted in the original application. Apart from the above we do not have anything else.
