ILR to be extended for daughter and wife

Post by jfreddy » Mon Jun 08, 2020 5:59 pm

Hi team

I am a UK citizen. My wife and daughter gained their ILR in 2016. They are not interested in taking up UK citizenship at this moment.

1. My daughter ILR expires in 2021 - she was given a 5 year ILR only as she was just 1 year old at time of ILR.

2. My wife ILR expires in 2024 Dec 31st.

Question
a. What application should I use for my daughter if we are only interested in getting an ILR
b. What will be the fees?
c. Trust the same would apply for my wife if she is only looking to extend her ILR past 2024 - Please confirm?

Thanks
joe

They simply apply to renew their brp cards.

Costs less than £80 each.

Note that your daughter's brp will probably be issued with an expiry date the same as your wife as that is the date all biometric documents and passports have to be upgraded with enhanced security features. So you will end up doing a renewal twice in a year for your daughter.

Provided they are in the UK, they don't need to extend an Indefinite Leave to Remain, they just need to have their BRP (the card) replaced.

Update, replace or transfer - biometric residence permit or card

As one parent has ILR and the other is a British citizen, your daughter is eligible to be registered as a British citizen, but only before her 18th birthday. Perhaps that is something that you may want to give consideration to.

EDIT: Overtaken by CR001
