Fiancee visa

Post by craig1974 » Mon Aug 18, 2008 9:36 pm

My fiancee is shortly to apply for a finacee visa to come here to the Uk to be with me, we know the visa will last for 6 months, she will be applying in colombia.
What i wanted to know is this, my previous partner (fiancee, unmarried) was also from colombia and she applied for a visa also a couple of years ago which she was granted, unfortunealty our realtionship did not work and she returned home.
Because my new fiancee is from the same country, do we need to tell them that I had a previuos fiancee who had a visa 2 years ago or is this totally irrelevant as my new fiancee as nothing to do with it and she is the one who is applying for the visa and as never applied before, I was only a sponsor for my previous fiancee.
your advice on thios will be appreciated as we want to do it right, I have seen on the form, there is no where that is says have I ever sponsored someone before, but she was from the same country

If the question isn't on the form, then you don't need to provide the information. You're sure that your previous fiancee returned home?

Hi

Yes she defintely returned home, I bought her a one way ticket and spoke to her once she returned home, her visa expired and i am 100% certain she did not return.
I just did not know if they kept my details on computer and then when my fiancee went to apply, they would tehn ask your partner sponsored someone before to go to england, this is why i was asking

If the question comes up later then you can answer honestly. The problem would be if your previous fiancee had used the visa for a way to enter the UK, but as she returned this shouldn't be a problem. As I said before you don't need to volunteer the information as they haven't asked for it on the application form.

Yes your details will be available to the consulate. You do not need to volunteer the information but they may ask about it - just be honest if they do, it should not affect anything.
