Questions for spouse visa

Hi,

I have inquiry about the family visa application as spouse. My partner and I are going to get married so I could apply for family visa as spouse. We are both in the U.K now but the marriage registration office has been closed at the moment. Unfortunately, My tire 4 visa is going to expires at the end of August (29th August). If we could not get the marriage certificate before that time, I wonder if I could still apply for the spouse visa while I am still in U.K?

In that case either you will have to leave the UK or may proceed to unmarried partner visa (if you both have formed & maintained a relationship akin to marriage from at least 2 years) / switch into another permissible type of visa.

In that case either you will have to leave the UK or may proceed to unmarried partner visa (if you both have formed & maintained a relationship akin to marriage from at least 2 years) / switch into another permissible type of visa.

Thanks for your reply. Due to the covid 19 situation, I wonder if I could still submit my application before my current visa expires (29th August) and write an letter to the Immigration officer to explain the problems?
Also, I wonder if I could apply for as a fiancé while I am in U.K ?

You can't switch to a Fiancée visa within UK except if you have been granted a fiancée visa previously and you were unable to get married then you can extend it further with reasons.

If both of you are not married prior before your leave is due to expire, I do not see how UKVI will waive that requirement by writing a cover letter.

Even if you will try to do that then will see that online application won't move forward in the absence of mandatory fields relating to the marriage detail. Fiance visa can only be applied from outside of UK although can be extended by virtue of this new exemption stemmed by cvd19.
