Tier 2 Dependent Visa Application

Post by i2siss » Wed Jul 08, 2020 9:05 am

Dear all,

Please, would anyone inform me whether my wife needs the proof of English language proficiency to apply for Tier 2 Dependent Visa.

It is worth mentioning that I am the main holder of Tier 2 General visa and I am already in the UK at the moment.

Regards

There is NO English requirement for Tier 2 Dependent visa holders.

CR001 thanks for your reply.

What about the criminal record certificate? I have not provided mine, shall my wife need to deliver hers?

IHS cost

Post by i2siss » Wed Jul 22, 2020 9:45 pm

Dear all,

I would be grateful if you could let me how much would I pay for a period of 2 years and 1 month (as a Tier 2 dependant). Would they charge £200 for 1 month whereas it is £200 for 6 months!

1 month or 6 months you pay the full IHS for half year. you key in the start and end dates, system will tell you the fee payable.

Hi SKJ1984

Thanks you for your reply.

Honestly I do not see the logic if for 2 year 1 month I have to pay £1000 where if it is 2 year it would be £800!

It is not a month-by-month surcharge. You will be charged £400 (increasing to £625) per year or part thereof.

So for a two year visa, you would be charged £800 (£1250 after October) and for a visa with a length ranging from two to three years, it will be £1200/£1875.

Keep in mind that you do not get to choose the length of the renewal. The visa will be renewed for a fixed length of time (typically two and a half years).

Hi secret.simon

Thanks for your reply.

In fact it for a Tier 2 Dependant visa application where somehow for a 2 years and 1 month it shows £1000 to pay the IHS where if the application would be delayed by 1 month the price would be £800! I find this a bit biased!
