Need clarification - Family visa (spouse - dependent) - UK NARIC

Post by bbalaji1985 » Sun Jul 19, 2020 8:41 pm

HI,
Need your kind response to my few clarifications.

My wife is in India and planning to apply Family visa for her. I am a British national (through naturalization) and got citizenship only after my marriage. My wife is in India currently and she was on family visa before but it got expired now. I am planning to reapply from India again.

I have 3 queries, kindly respond based on your convenience:

1. Is there any other visa or i should still go for Family of settled visa for her?

2. When we applied last time (4 years back - 2016), she got UK NARIC (English Language Assessment) confirming her degree( , can i use the same certificate?

3. Current UK NARIC website says a different certificate (Visas and Nationality Statement) now for family visa, do i need to get that or i can still go with the old certificate?

Thanks in advance. Awaiting your response.

Thanks,
Balaji

1. She must apply for the spouse settlement visa. There is no other visa she can apply for based on you being a British spouse.

2. She needs Naric English and comparable assessment.

3. Yes, ukvi red route naric assessing English and comparable to a UK degree is required. If she has the English assesment then simply apply for the comparable assessment.

Family of Settled Visa - Spouse Visa - Clarification

Post by bbalaji1985 » Sun Nov 22, 2020 11:47 pm

Hi Team,

I am applying for my wife visa under the category "Family of settled visa: Spouse (Joining partner)". She is an Indian citizen and currently in India and her previous visa got expired few months back. I am applying the visa now and i came across 2 things for which need your help. Kindly provide your response.

1) Appendix 2 - I have filled the application form online but did not see anything called Appendix 2. Do i need to fill separately Appendix 2 VAF4A? When i checked online it says only for North Korea. But i remember filling Appendix 2 last time in 2016. Can you please confirm Appendix 2 (VAF4A) is not required? It is just the application form and no appendix required right? Or pls advise if it is a different Appendix.

2) IHS charge - Last time i paid (£200 *3 = £600, they gave visa for 33 months in 2016). I know the cost is £400/year now, i was thinking i should £400*3 =£1200; But i paid £400*5=£2000 (INR: 1,95,403). Does this mean if she is provided visa will it be 5 years and not just 33 months? Please confirm.

I have got other documents both Sponsor and the applicant related documents. Many thanks in advance.

Thanks,
Balaji

It's not mandatory to fill Appendix 2 anymore as the questions are already incorporated into the online form nowadays.

2) IHS charge - Last time i paid (£200 *3 = £600, they gave visa for 33 months in 2016). Please confirm. The visa is still for 33 months. There has being significant increment of the IHS charge since the last time you applied. The latest increase to £624/year took effect just last month of October

I have got other documents both Sponsor and the applicant related documents. Many thanks in advance.

Yes as part of subsisting relationship evidences.
The opinion expressed as above is neither a professional advice nor contesting/competing to other member's opinion/advice.
