Spouse Visa Extension- Please Help.

Post by Nazishb » Wed Jul 22, 2020 12:51 am

Hi,

I am posting this topic in hope that someone can help me because I am extremely stressed out about this right now and I understand that I may seem stupid, unorganised, last minute etc to a lot of people here but I've had a lot of things going on which has led to depression and not dealing with things.

My husband's visa is going to expire on 26/09/20. He started working after 2months when he first came here in December 2017. He worked there for 10months before being made redundant. He then was unsuccessful in getting a job for a few months. When he finally got a job, he was kicked out after 4months because of a misunderstanding. Since then he has been to many interviews and applied for a lot of jobs but still no luck. I then decided that there is no other option than to start working myself and my husband could look after my kids. I started work in March 2020, worked for 3 weeks but got made redundant because of Corona virus and didn't qualify for furlough.

Fast forward to now where we have 2 months left till expiry. I have no idea what to do or what is going to happen. I can borrow money from someone to apply but how and what am I going to do.

I have researched so many times, read so many times on what is required but for some reason I still cannot understand as like I said my mental health right now is not great.

From what I have understood, what is required is:
- A2/B1 English test (confused about which exactly it is)
- 6 letters in joint names
- passport for husband, myself and kids
- financial proof ( have no idea what to do here)

And that's it?

Someone please help me, I am going crazy with stress about this.

Unfortunately, it’s very complicated. Take a look at some guides, e.g. here. Are you receiving any allowances? Minimum A2 English required under the 5 year route.

I get universal credit. I have looked at guides but I am just getting more and more confused.

See also How to apply for a UK spouse or partner visa.

If neither you nor your spouse are employed on the date of the application, then you have to rely on sufficient savings to meet the financial requirements. Else, you have to rely on exceptional circumstances.
