Benefits after ILR

Post by trevoronitselec » Wed Aug 12, 2020 12:13 pm

Hello, I know it was asked before by many here but every case is different so might as well ask for your knowledge about this matter regarding claiming benefits.
Me, my wife and 2 children just received our ILR and BRP through 5 year Tier 2 route.
I was thinking if I am now eligible to apply for my 2 children ages 11 and 9 for child benefit?
My wife is working but only earning less than 10K per annum. Me on the other hand is earning not over 45K including all company benefits.

Is it also fine for my wife to apply instead of me?
When can we start the application and the do we need to be specific about the bank account to be given ( I mean if wife is applying it should be her bank account and not a joint account)?
Will this affect our naturalisation application in the future?

Thank you for your help

Either of you can apply.

Once you have ILR you are free to claim. You can claim and have it paid into your wifes account if you wish.
Will this affect our naturalisation application in the future?
No!
