Personal Savings for Tier 2 Dependent VISA

Post by venkatj16 » Thu Aug 20, 2020 3:49 pm

Hi All,
Good afternoon. I'm in UK for more than a year and have a small doubt on the Personal savings side. I have a wife and a Kid who are going to apply for dependent visa from India. Actually, I have money in my account but I'm missing 1 month as i do not have enough money. I saw the conditions and it says that if the employer is happy to give a certificate of maintenance letter, they do not check my savings. I asked my employer, they are happy to give the letter.
Can I use this and get my wife and kid apply from India even though i don't have enough money for 1 month?
Can you please me with the question?

Thanks

Not sure what you mean by "missing 1 month" but for dependent visa for spouse and/or kids, you need to show a certain salary requirement (usually above 20000 GBP). That's the bare minimum though, it doesn't guarantee a visa. In any case, the official UK visa website is clear that you need to show that you are able to financially support your dependents - this can be shown via funds in either your account or theirs that have been there for at least 90 days.

You've said that your employer/sponsor is OK to provide a maintenance letter. Is this a "certificate of sponsorship stating that your sponsor will give each of your dependants at least £630 to cover their costs for a month if they need it"? If yes, then it's acceptable for dependent visa application. If not, then I'd suggest that you wait until you manage to have enough savings and then apply with the proper documentation.

This is NOT relevant to a tier 2 dependent visa. You are confusing it with another totally different visa route. There is NO minimum income/salary requirement for PBS dependent routes

Sorry, my bad. I didn't realise it was PBS only. OP, please disregard my remarks on the income requirement for dependent visa.
