Travelling to the UK with second nationality passport

Post by Bwen » Wed Aug 12, 2020 6:19 pm

Hi,

I am in a similar situation. I have two passports. Passport A is linked to my UK residence card. Passport A will expire in 6 months and my residence card will expire in 2024. My second passport (passport B) does not need a visa to enter the UK.

If passport A expires which is linked to my residence card, can I enter the UK by showing both my passports (passports A and B) at the UK border and show my UK residence card?

Thanks.

Should be possible provided the both passports/nationalities were truthfully declared in all previous applications.

Hi Seagul,

Many thanks for your response.

I applied to my BRC using Passport A. I became a citizen of country B (passport B) just few months ago (after I got my residence BRC card).

Under the EU settlement scheme, I can declare a new passport/nationality if I renew passport A or replace it with passport B. I am not changing or renewing. If I send my passport B to the home office, they might think I am replacing it with passport A. Which I am not.

Is there a way to declare passport B to the EU settlement scheme or home office without replacing it with passport A? Like to say I am a dual national now and here is a copy of passport B.

Kind regards,
B

What answer had you provided over a question which now almost all UKVI's applications have "have you applied visa/nationality of any country other than the UK for which you are currently waiting"

Note: UKVI don't care as how many passports/visas/nationalities you currently/previously were possessing rather only want its truthful declaration in all applications.
