Hello everyone,

The situation around the world is really sad due to the outbreak of Corona virus.
I have my EEA family permit with me but still cannot travel to UK since all the flights are suspended for a month.

Hopefully the situation will be better in the coming months. I just wanted to know if anyone can help me out with my query.

Is it necessary to travel to UK within first 3 months of the visa start date. Is it a problem if someone die to unavoidable circumstances travels after 3 months of the visa start date??

And currently how long does it take to get pre settled status after moving to UK ??

There is no law that forces you to come within 3 months. You can come to the UK in last month of your FP. There is no definite time period for settlement scheme to process as it varies case to case. According to recent information keep in mind at least couple of months. Stay safe and do not worry about coming asap. Later is better than sooner as UK is going to be next hotsopt of Covid-19. The appeal is for my sister in law .


My mother got her eu settlement family permit u don't need bank transfer just apply online and include cover letter.

The sponsor income there's no minimum or maximum as long as she's working thats fine

My brother in law (7 years old ) and father in law applied on 27/07/2020 in the same time.

Brother in law received notification to pick hid passport on 06/08/2020 we didn't pick it yet as waiting for father in law to can pick them up in the same time .no refusals email received so fingers crossed .

On Friday 28th Aug I emailed the paid UKVI email service. They said a decision had been made on the EU Settlement Scheme Family Permit application. Does anyone know how long it takes from that point until you get contacted by VFS centre to collect the passport? Thanks.

Hey Pierre, my Timeline is as follows;

Application : Feb 3
Biometric : Feb 14
COA received : Feb 17
Not straightforward email received: Feb 27
Request for extra document: Feb 27 which i received confirmation for and was returned on March or April can’t remember but since then nothing.

I got the following response:

no update yet..my scheduled flight in the application is sept 9..dont know if we can make it..what about you,what scheduled flight did you put on ur application?

Mine was in June but it’s way past now.

married to an italian national..i received my passport early in the morning with visa stamped on it.. 04/08/2020..

received email that my passport is ready august 28
i received it today august 31..
