fiance visa with difficulties in getting housing support letter

Post by nala » Thu Sep 03, 2020 5:32 pm

Hello all,

I and my partner are applying for a fiance visa.

He has a joint ownership of the house he lived in.
The situation is it's not gonna be easy to get a housing support letter from the co-owner of the house.
We are planning to move once we get married next year, anyway.

In this case, would it be ok if we show to the immigration that he has got a joint-ownership of a house but we are planning to move? We would still have to live in the house till we get married but would it be ok if we focus our accommodation on we are planning to move, I mean, without the co-owner's consent letter that I and my partner can stay in the house till we move? Because I read that when it comes to a fiance visa, the accommodation does not have to be in a present tense but could be in a future tense, I mean, we will reside in blah blah..

Or are we taking a risk by doing so?
In a perfect world, it would be nice if the co-owner could wrote the letter but he's very uncertain about it.
We will submit the house deeds showing the ownership of the house. We haven't had any house inspection for a new house to move in as of yet. We only know which area of the country. Please advise.

Depending on the caseworker, the visa can be approved even without the consent of other co-owner but unfortunately there is not much elucidation about it. Ideally, try to go through the ownership documents especially those clauses as what these say about additional occupants including the family members.

financial documents (bank & building society statement)

Post by nala » Mon Sep 07, 2020 2:55 pm

Hello,

I & my partner are preparing for a fiance visa application.
Here are my questions.

1. Should we submit updated building society passbook in addition to statement? What about a letter from the building society? Are three of the documents are all prerequisite?
If passbook/letter is not necessary, we are thinking about just submitting a statement without updated passbook or letter..

2. do we need to obtain a letter from the bank in addition to submitting bank statement if the cash saving relied upon is from bank account?

1&2). No letter or passbook is needed rather only the bank statements.

a proof of marital status

Post by nala » Mon Sep 14, 2020 8:35 am

Hello,

Do I need to submit a certificate showing I am not married for the application of a fiance visa?
Or would it be enough to just mention I have never been married in the application form?

Also,

We are planning to move before(hopefully)/after we get married next year from a house my partner have a joint-ownership with a family member. In the meantime, we will live in the house till it takes place.

In such case where we don't know the address that we are moving to as of yet because moving hasn't happened yet, how can we provide the proposed long term address after marriage?

There is no way you can till it happens, or use the address of the coowned house since you will still have contact there.
