1 year FLRgranted without job

Post by Vayu » Tue Apr 19, 2005 10:25 pm

Hi all,

just communicating what happened to a friend last week. She was granted her HSMP in March of 2004 and entered the UK briefly very shortly afterwards. However, she was offered a very lucrative contract back in her home country, and she lived and worked overseas until January of this year.

She recently applied for FLR and was granted a one year extention, as opposed to a 3 year extention. This was due to the fact that she has only been in the country for 2.5 months and has no job offer. She has been actively looking for work though in the time she has been here.

Thats very good news for those people who dont wish to come immediatly
and those who havent been fortunate enough to get full time jobs before their extensions are due.

Many thanks for sharing this with us.

don't be encouraged by this to delay your coming into the uk after getting HSMP approval. you maybe disappointed, the fact is that some case workers use their discretion to take decisions. At times there is no stead and fast rule for them to follow. She's just luck to get the extension.

I know of two friends, working in the same company, who applied for hsmp with EXACTLY the same set of documents. One's app was approved, and the other was not successful. he was told to apply again and include tax clearance certificate to proof his income. The other guy did not apply with tax clearance but got his approval.

if u get hsmp try and come in asap! it is an advice, take it or leave it
