Dependents BRP delay - In country application

Post by lostandfound85 » Mon Sep 07, 2020 2:28 pm

Hello

My Tier 2 G got approved and I received my BRP in July2020. Subsequently my wife and child enrolled their biometrics on 20 Aug 2020 and we (our lawyer) received Visa approval email on 25 Aug 2020, the email informs about BRP arrival within 7 - 10 working days. Today is Day 9 and we have no news.

Following some other posts as well, we tried to check https://www.gov.uk/prove-right-to-work using my wife's previous BRP information and the link produces updated leave to remain i.e. previous BRP is a Tier 4 BRP valid until 2021 with 20 hrs work limitation. In the above link while querying with her previous Tier 4 BRP number, the result shows validity until 2023 without any 20 hour limitation.

My concerns are:

1.) My wife has a job offer which she is unable to start work due to delay in providing Right to work document
2.) my lawyer (appointed by my employer) who applied for my wife and child did not fill out my wife's National Insurance Number on the application form even though we asked him to add and I see from related forums where members faced delays due to NI linking.
3.) Home Office is not willing to give any more information as we are within the 10 working day limit.

Has anyone faced similar issues? is the ongoing NI linking issue concerning scenarios where application did not provide NI number?

I understand we have only 1 more day before making an online enquiry https://www.biometric-residence-permit. ... t-arrived/ but we are very anxious - advise as to NI linking issue would be of great help...

The NI issue is generally for those who have not had an NI number previously.

Thanks a lot for your response. I have raised an enquiry via BRP not arrived link on gov.uk, I am hoping to get a response.

Re. NI issue, I have checked with an OP who seemed to have a response from BRP team that their BRP is delayed due to NI (link below) - however I am not sure if it is their first BRP, I have asked them so
