Showing funds for tier 2 visa and travel history question

So, we have determined that the appropriate SOC code we will use is 2444. Best I can find on the appendixes is that the minimum salary needed is minimum wage, however I cannot find what is considered “appropriate salary” but can only find references to at least minimum wage. Does anyone know where to find a list of appropriate salaries or what the appropriate salary is considered for SOC 2444?

Last question as of now is about maintenance funds. If my sponsor specified that they will cover maintenance, then when we submit our documents to apply for the visa, I assume that UKVI will only look to make sure we have enough money for the IHS and for entry clearance, and that we did actually pay?

Maintenance funds is not the same as paying the IHS or visa fees. You cannot progress your application if you do not pay the fees. It doesn't matter who pays it, it is linked directly to and part of the online application process.

I did see that document but couldn’t find the page initially since it wasn’t hyperlinked on the table of contents. I think that’s the answer I was looking for, thank you again!

One quote on that page did raise a smaller question though,

“ and that you will receive pay and conditions at least equal to, or in excess of, those normally given to a settled worker in the same role.”

I wonder if that means what this specific employer usually pays, or if it means what the “industry” as a whole pays on average?

For example if a company (or a church in my case) normally only pays £20,000pa for this role to a settled worker, but let’s say on average others might pay £28,000pa (making up numbers for an example), is that ok? Or would they have to go off of industry averages?

In the US, other than minimum wage, there is no set minimum per job based on a category or job title. A job could pay $15 per hour at one company and $22 per hour at another at the same level and role, there isn’t a law against that.

Hello all,

If our tier 2 sponsor certifies on our CoS that they will provide maintenance funds, do we still need to provide financial statements? Will they want to see that we had the money for the visa and IHS fees for 6 months or will they not care about that part?

We will be applying soon in the next couple of months. At that point we will have the money for our visas and IHS, but won’t have had it for 6 months. Will there be any problems?

Also I had a question about travel history. I’ve been to the UK twice, been to Canada, and been to Greece. I’ve got passport stamps from my first visit to the UK before they allows us to use the egates. I’ve got a stamp from Greece as well. But since we drove across the Canadian border I’ve got no stamps and no flight history. How much proof do they want? For my first visit to the UK, while I have a stamp I don’t have the flight history any more so I can’t prove when I left, unless I suppose they check their system or whatever. Just curious as to how much info I need to provide.

For reference, we are Americans applying in the United States.
