No, my case was different. That time there was no idv app and when I submitted there was a huge backlog and I was in queue to get a biometric appointment.
My slot to book an appointment was opened in Mid July.
Now the situation is much better.
Thanks.

I thinking about applying for the stage 2 (my endorsement was a fast track route under UKRI) and I am bit concerned about the times it would take since I would not be able to travel while having an application pending.

Would being eligible for the biometrics reused would accelerate the process? What are the factors that can speed up the process?
Using IDV app or opting for Biometric (don’t think this should really matter or related to decision time), can’t really assure you which one would be quicker as eventually it will depends on the type of each application case by case basis.
My “personal view” based on trends is to go for biometric appointment.
Standard wait time is 8 weeks but UKVI is doing their best as I have seen maximum decisions coming out well before the standard time
Thanks.

Yes I see what you mean.

As far as I understood, the 8 weeks start counting from the day of submitting the biometrics. The question is, how long would it take to get my biometrics sent?!!!

Not sure what you mean by “how long would it take to get my biometrics sent?!!!”
Are you waiting after submitting stage2 to get a reuse email or appointment booking email from UKVCAS?

Not yet.

I am just asking about whether submitting my biometrics or using IDV App would be straight forward or I should wait for these two options!

After you submit your stage 2 application you will have to wait for an email from UKVCAS that will tell you if you have been put in reuse category (where they will reuse your biometric details from previous application) or you have to book a biometric appoitment

If you fall in reuse then they will send a mail to use the app and submit biometric, if you cannot use the app then appointment booking option is also available.

If you don’t fall in reuse then they will send you an email to book an appointment

Both the processes are quite straight forward to use.
My personal view is to book an appointment and submit biometric even if you fall in reuse category to use the app

Do you have a slight idea about the availability of appointments? Are they within a reasonable time?

No clue, it depends on how busy the location is where you are booking an appointment.
For Croydon the recent case i have heard the earliest appointment was available after 2 weeks

I see, it might be useful creating a discussion in which people can share the availability in different places where appointments are available based on their experience!

What do you think?

GTV visa application:
State 2: application payment done - 15th July 2020
Invitation to use IDV - 29th Aug
Booked appointment (Did not use IDV): 29th Aug (£62.99 @Lansdowne Road +£1.99 SMS)
Appointment UKVCAS: 1st Sept
Approval mail: 7th Sept from (Home Office Atlas)
Delivery of BRP - waiting

How do we come to know on what date BRP will be delivered? Will be getting the SMS or email?
What happens if we are not at home? is it registered post or courier?
I stand corrected on the courier aspect. I got an email from UKVI with the Fedex tracking number for my BRP card. Since you also got your GTV approval email on 07 Sep 2020, I assume that you also have received this info.
Hi Krishnakumarg/VikasMandal,

Did you get the Fedex mail with tracking number on the same day of the approval email?

Indeed, it is fixed! Well, in their defence, they have already had the warning about this service being in "beta testing" with the disclaimer: "This is a new service - your feedback will help us to improve it.". So, fair enough.

I submitted my biometrics via IDV app only on 30th August. I am still waiting...Should I go for in-person appointment? Any advice please?

Based on the fact that almost everyone here who did IDV and then did in-person and then got a decision a few days later. The pattern is clear so that should help you decide :-)

Hi, I haven't got Fedex mail yet. My partner applied separately for GTV and she got it after 2 days. I am also expecting the tracking details in a day or two.

The BRP was slipped in my letter box instead of taking signature etc... well that was a surprise.

Based on the fact that almost everyone here who did IDV and then did in-person and then got a decision a few days later. The pattern is clear so that should help you decide :-)
I gave up waiting and did in person biometrics yesterday... hopefully a decision will come out soon...

I submitted my biometrics via IDV app only on 30th August. I am still waiting...Should I go for in-person appointment? Any advice please?

I did the same! Tired of waiting and have a job offer that is in danger! Let's see if it speed up the decision!
