Regarding Tier 2 work permit.

Post by rakesh14 » Thu Sep 17, 2020 11:48 am

Hi,

I am Rakesh from Chennai, India. I pursued MBA in Edinburgh, UK and graduated in the year 2018. After my graduation, I have been trying for Tier 1 Start-up visa with the help of my university. Due to COVID-19, the university has been closed and my visa process has been stopped till now. Gladly an IT company from Edinburgh, UK contacted me and said that they will sponsor Tier 2 work permit for me. My question is, as I completed MBA from UK in 2018, It has been 2 years. If I apply for Tier 2 visa, will the labour market test applied to me or will I be considered as a fresh graduate and skip labour market test? Please Help.

Thanks and Regards
Rakesh

Currently, your potential employer is only exempt form RLMT if the job is on the shortage occupation list OR if you are switching within the UK from Tier 4 to Tier 2 which does not apply to you.

Did you apply for a job with this company or did they contact you randomly out of the blue? Are they on the UKVI approved sponsor list? What is the job exactly that they have offered you?

Thank you for your answer. I applied for job and I was interviewed. The organisation does not have a sponsorship license but they said they have applied for it.
