Adopting a married name doesn't attract any formal procedure rather a marriage certificate is deemed sufficient to bear out such change. When I got married to my husband, I'd decided to keep my original surname. However, I want to change it to my husband's surname now. I am an Indian national. How do I go about changing my name officially? I reckon I'd have to do something in both countries so that it changes on my passport as well as my Resident country?
