ILR Dependant visa query

Post by nr123 » Sun Sep 13, 2020 1:11 am

Dear all,
I have completed 10 years in UK submitted documents for SET LR last week. Now planning to apply dependent visa for my family. Need your suggestions please.

I have Biometric appointment on 18th Sep. Can I still go ahead and submit the dependent visa application for my family ?

What is the dependent visa type for ILR (10 years route) ?

What documents are needed for this application?
Applicants are my wife (india passport), daughter 12 yrs (US Citizen), son 4 years (India passport).

Please suggest what are the application costs.

Also, will the dependent visa granted for 5 years straight ? How many times I may need to extend this visa for my family?

Thank you in advance.

What is your immigration history?

What is the current visa your dependent’s hold?

What is their visa expiry date?

I am on Tier 2 ICT entered UK on 30th Aug 2010 and stayed without a break. So applied the ILR on the 10 years route.
My family are on PBS dependent visa from 2011 but they had a break of 1 year in 2016.
So I would like to apply the ILR dependent visa for my family.

Please let me know if the above info will help you to provide the details required.
Thanks in advance.

You will have to switch your dependent’s visa via the FLR(M) route. They will have to stay on it for 5 years to apply for ILR. ILR clock will reset to zero. They will get 2.5 years visa and then apply for an extension of another 2.5 years. You will have to meet income/accommodation and all visa specific requirements for them.

You must apply before their visa expiry irrespective if you have got a decision by then or not. If their visas are valid, you can wait and apply once you get your ILR first.

Forgot to mention, my family has the PBS dependent visa until Aug 2021. But want to apply the ILR dependent visa now itself to complete the 5 years earlier.

You can apply now also. Just add a cover letter and mention YOUR application details.
Their applications will be decided after your decision anyways.

OR

You can wait till you get a decision first.

Big amounts are involved. If your visa is refused (God forbid), their visa’s will not be successful either.

Its best to wait till you get your ILR first.

FLR M
What documents are needed for this application?
Applicants are my wife (india passport), daughter 12 yrs (US Citizen), son 4 years (India passport).
Wife need English A1 from a UKVi approved test centre. You need to prove you meet the financial requirement if £22,400pa.
Please suggest what are the application costs.
£1033 EACH visa fee. £1000 EACH for IHS fee.
Also, will the dependent visa granted for 5 years straight ? How many times I may need to extend this visa for my family?
No, it is a 2.5 year visa. They will need another 2.5 year extension and meet the same requirements again and pay the fees again, whatever they are at that time.
Is it suggested to go with the solicitor or is it straight forward I can apply myself online ?
You don't need a solicitor.

Degree and NARIC certificates have the last name only Initial. Will it be a problem

Post by nr123 » Mon Sep 28, 2020 9:53 pm

Hi,
I am planning to apply FLR M visa for my spouse and kids. My spouse degree certificate and NARIC certificates printed the last name only Initial - not full last name. First name is printed in full and correct.

will it be a problem for the FLR M application. Please help with clarification.

All other documents passport, BRP etc have the full name.

Majority of softwares/databases transcribe the names with full surname and the initials of first name whilst skipping the middle name altogether (if any), and if that is the case then should be alright. Usually the display of full surname is implicitly deemed necessary.

In my case first name is printed in full but last name printed only initial. This is how normally the names are printed in India. Is this a problem for visa application here in UK?

Nothing can be said for sure but generally all supporting documents must corroborate with the passport/BRP/marriage certificate (married name). You can extract an idea as how important is the name from the following official:

Thanks a lot for your response. Finally, NARIC gave me both comparability and English certificates with the full name.
