Hello everyone, i need your help.
My brother died in Africa about 8 years ago and left behind 2 children aged 2 and 5. They are now 10 and 13 and i have been financially responsible for them ever since. They are with their mother who has remarried and from what i understand, the children are not doing great with the new man.
I am British citizen and i want to bring the children to come and live with me here, an idea the mother supports. Please can anyone give me any information on how to go by it. I have no idea what to do whatsoever.
Regards

Hello
In nutshell, you can't. As a British in Britain, you don't have the right to bring people who depend on you. If you were German or Polish in the UK, there would have been some options but a British in Britain is disadvantaged when it comes to immigration for relatives.
If you can pay privately for their school in the UK, you may be able to bring them on a Tier 4 visa. But that's usually expensive as you need to count about 10K per year per kid. And also, the Tier 4 doesn't lead anywhere as they will have to return home at one point.

Are you sure he has only one option as Tier 4?. Why he wouldn't adopt that children and bring them here coz they are dependent on him and they are living miserable life there(according to him).
Please look at the possibility of adoption to bring ur brother children in UK.

With kids, this option may be nice to consider in theory, in practice, it's not doable. You can't adopt like that especially internationally, within the same family and with a parent who is still alive. It may take years and cost a lot. They could be well 18+ by then.

It won't work. Gifting a child or trying to adopt a child in these circumstances does NOT result in a visa for the children. HO guidance on familial adoptions and gifting children is very clear, a visa will be refused.

Thank you CR001. I have seen it attempted but it never worked. I wasn't aware about the Home Office policy but it's clearer now why this doesn't work.
