FLTR Extension - Very confused!

Post by spacepup » Thu Oct 15, 2020 1:04 pm

Hello!

I'm currently applying for my FLTR Spouse Visa extension (5 year route) for another 2.5 years. I've chosen my solicitor, they asked for all the same documents my initial solicitor asked for but he only requested digital copies. Now that I've paid the IHS and Application fee, I've been told to book an appointment via UKVCAS - what an absolute disaster it is turning out to be!

Last time it did not go like this, my solicitor sent all documents and my husband and I went to the local post office re: Biometric Information and we were golden. It's never ever a simple or straightforward process but now that I have to re-organise myself, get all hard copies of evidence and find (AND PAY!!!) for an appointment via UKVCAS I'm feeling extremely angered!! There is only ONE appointment available and it's November 10th, at the cost of £110! The number in which you're told to call to get hold of UKVCAS (0844 8920232) seems to be disconnected as it fails to call them and now I'm wondering when on earth there will be more applications as my solicitor doesn't know a thing either!

Could anyone shed some light on how often appointments are updated on the UKVCAS website for the Pimlico / Croydon branches? We have to go in person and submit documents for scanning. Does scanning come at an extra cost? I think I read somewhere that it was £45 which is ridiculous.

Thanks all!

There is no set pattern rather these (appointment) can resurrect anytime and then vanish mysteriously, therefore, the mission of searching shouldn't be stalled. Some of the appointments at pacific centres/price used to include the scanning fee for which you need to re-enquire from them but ideally you should choose self-upload for having the better control. Read about it here.

I spoke with the HO on the 15th and they've let me know that this struggle is something that a lot of people are currently facing and since there are no appointments at all for the next month and that'll be after my visa expires, I should not worry about overstaying since i've already submitted my application.

I don't actually trust the HO at all so I find myself calling them a lot and sadly my Solicitor doesn't seem responsive, either.

i was told by my solicitor that uploading everything would be more difficult, I wish I could contact UKVCAS but their number doesn't work and the HO doesn't like to speak on their behalf. All very frustrating.

Thank you for your help :)

Perhaps your solicitor is a fearmonger who is confusing & frightening you. There is a live text commentary at almost every forum where you can see that what's happening and how others are coping that.
